"As
nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both
instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly
unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of
change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims
of the darkness. ~William O. Douglas

Let's Talk 05/10/06
The
Dogleg Diaries,
a personal journey, has reached a fork in the road and turned
toward the politic. No political party is endorsed, but a free-thinking,
activist-oriented life is proposed.

This
was a web page I did awhile ago for the fun of it, but it hitherto
has never been published. http://easternsierra.us/country_glass_bishop/
I like what Grandma Moses said, as it gives me some small consolation
for doing moving forward, no matter what the increment. "I
have written my life in small sketches, a little today, a little
yesterday... I look back on my life as a good day's work, it
was done and I feel satisfied with it. I made the best out of
what life offered."

The
first time Skandar tried sculpting a piece of obsidian, he said
he remembered thinking, "That is a dangerous piece of rock."

There
is no raw material, nor rare medium that intimidates artist
April Zrelak. Each wall, floor, window, canvas and board that
comes within her reach, falls under her spell . . . http://easternsierra.us/april_zrelak_studio/

The
mood of the day, the week the months change an so do the quotes
of note. Sometimes these come from personal reading, sometimes
from readers or from fanatical searches for just the right
idea, expressed poetically. Please feel free to make suggestions:
